Is this an example of open source marketing? You tell me. Follow the links to the promotions and to the sites and you will be impressed. Special thanks go to David Armano for designing the cover, to Gavin Heaton for putting together the site (among many other things) and to Drew McLellan for getting us all on the same... book.
These links have dimension, there are stories behind them. That is where the Web becomes a leveler and a three-dimensional space at the same time. The future of publishing may be here with us today -- participants and authors are the same.
UPDATE: See Bruce Nussbaum post at BusinessWeek and the post by fellow Fast Company Expert blogger Brian Reich.

Valeria, I don't know about you, but I had goosebumps heading into today. The excitement has been almost unbearable.
I am so thankful to be a part of this project with folks like you. What an amazing group of thinkers... and I get to be a part of it!
Mille grazie, bella!

Tim:
This to me feels right. After years of leaping off a social network at Fast Company into actual projects, it was high time that blogs and conversations would take us to an actual outcome beyond the connections we are making. Getting to know other bloggers to me means finding out how I can help them do what they do best.
So yes, a group of thinkers... and doers. The timing was a bit difficult for me as I just started a new, big, job. Look for other ways in which I am getting publicity for this project in the coming days and weeks.
