The Era of Conversation -- October 4
Conversations are bread crumbs that lead to connections, which in turn may turn into opportunities. My keynote at The Era of Conversation Conference hosted by the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, DC on October 4th was the result of a meeting of the minds. Geoff Livingston of the Buzz Bin has invited me alongside podcasting pioneer and new media maven C.C. Chapman to talk about conversational communications.
I cannot wait to meet C.C. and all the other fantastic speakers and panelists in this un-conference format.
In my presentation I will talk about every day things that marketers inside organizations can begin to do to transform their communications into two-way, opt in conversations with customers. Many of the stories I will share draw from personal experience as an insider in corporate America -- it can be done successfully even in conservative and highly regulated environments.
Check out the program and let me know if you're planning on attending so we can meet and catch up. The day will be packed with case studies along with basic, every day activities you can begin to do to engage social media tools that will benefit you and your organization. To all those who wish to learn more, I recommend buying a copy (or several) of The Age of Conversation, a groundbreaking eBook collaboration by 103 of today's top marketing writers. My contribution is on The Age of Conversation @ Work.

Wish I could attend. Sounds like a great presentation. I'm especially drawn to your simple, yet compelling graphic. Hope you post your presentation after the event. Good luck!

Tom -- thank you. Wish I could take the credit for the graphic ;-) It was Geoff who came up with it. I know the conference will be energizing, lots of experienced speakers in the program.
Roger -- I'm really looking forward to meeting C.C. and the other speakers as well as attendees. I tend to want to get into conversations...
