Listed below are links to weblogs that reference How to Write a Business Recommendation:

Recommendations are poignant and tell a story in a few words so being succinct is essential. I am working on one now – it will be my first. It's taking me a while to get into the blogger world - just read this week's NY Times Magazine about a young woman's experience in telling all. Her expertise as a blogger for a major company lead to a TV appearance on Larry King Live. Jimmy Kimmel hosted and blew her away with a condemnation of how her company exploited his demeanor in his 'real life' on their blog. He was angry at the misrepresentation and she was unprepared for the attack. My gut says it's best to neglect writing a recommendation unless it's complimentary – same with Linked In – I recently got a request from a recent colleague who I believe was instrumental in making me a sacrificial lamb when my former company relieved several employees of their jobs. Your recommendation is on the mark – give the person a call and you'll find out for yourself. Thank you for the idea! Cheers to your blog and making us think.
