Not so fast! I've been in rooms filled with marketers where it was about pushing their message out to as many channels as possible, including, and especially, the social media channels.

So while you and I may see this as a natural progression of where we're headed, there is true confusion as to the goals of communications vis-a-vis customers and others.

The fluff comment was for those readers :)


No surprise to me. Your three points concisely define the future of communication. The question is never who or how to blog, but what is the intent of the communication (based on a strategic communication).

Where I see I might communicate better is that anytime I mention outcomes, people assume I mean cash. Four of your five outcomes aren't fluff at all.
