I asked people what was their favorite part of SxSWi on Twitter and in the halls, and this is what they said:
- meeting people face-to-face - making new relationships & strengthening existing ones, swapping ideas -- @justinpremick
- meeting great people... in the halls and at small get togethers instead of big parties -- @beley
- @zefrank by a long shot -- @theblogstudio
- more than anything, I'm loving the opportunity to meet up with ppl -- @derrickkwa
- Meeting new people and old friends, and the core conversations + looking forward to the #digitalmission breakfast tomorrow! @benjaminellis
- all the A+ social media sessions, TweetUps, meeting Twitter followers in person @kathyoreilly
Meeting and connecting with people has been by far the most voted of all SxSWi opportunities. It was great to meet some of the people with whom Ive had exchanges in the last year, including two who came all the way from Singapore to attend the conference. I also heard that the film part was really good.
What was your favorite part of SxSWi?

Yeah, it's all about PEOPLE.
Seems too many organisers are still trying to make it about the content and not the connections...

Totally agree with Justin. It's almost all about the connections. Good to finally meet you in person, Valeria.

@Scott - I agree 100% that it's about people. On the other hand, the content and the panels are what give the conference structure, what make the connections possible.

@Scott - glad the theme resonates with you, as it would. The scale of this conference is too big and the wow factor obscures the how stuff.
@Chuck - ditto, how nice to be in the same place having a conversation.
@Jeffrey - for years, I used the content like Italians use meals: to draw people to the conversation.

Just a quick note to tell you that I love the slide-decks that you put together!

The best part is the people, of course :)

Okay, here is the big #fail with photographs and Google alerts... I was coming back to your blog (which is one of my favorites btw) to look for your post on location-based services and realized that I was in two of the pictures in subsequent posts. So 1) thank you for including me! and 2) there's gotta be a way that Google/Flickr can do a better job at embedding meta tags. Hmmmm...
Best,
