@Gavin - very astute observation. If, as Dave Winer writes, other companies start getting smarter about creating an open source alternative to FB and Twitter, then we'll see that smug smile wiped of the company's face. Pun totally intended.

@Steven - my thinking is never trust it with your dearest information. Know how it works and what ti gathers and shares.

Scary developments. Maybe I should quit facebook alltogether.

Actions like this reminds us that Facebook owns Facebook - and that we are only "users". It's amazing that so many brands struggle to build trust and yet Facebook is happy to throw it away.
