Suddenly Jamie

So glad that this post slid onto my Twitter radar this afternoon.

The importance of ideas - of stopping to think, to identify the WHY behind the WHAT - is so critical to long-term success. The pace at which the world runs these days doesn't often leave time for that kind of exploration. Everything feels like a race - we must get to the finish line before the other guy. But, what if we're running towards the wrong finish line? Or what if we forgot to tie our shoes properly and just as we're about to break the ribbon, we trip and fall flat on our faces?

Without taking action, you have nothing - no change, no growth, no success. But if you can combine taking action with taking time to think, discover, understand, and strategize - then every action you take will have a much more powerful impact on your goals.

Stop. Think. Act. Succeed.

much of the pace in social networks is artificial, partly self-inflicted (watching others apparently do more), and partly encouraged by platforms because we are the product (constant nudges to do things). Gaining velocity from within goes through an entirely different process, part editing out what doesn't matter, and part becoming aware of what does.
