Today marks the one year anniversary of Steve Job's passing.
Many have shared the quotes on the importance of trying, failing, and persevering. As well, probably more have talked about the less appealing side of Jobs at length.
I was most impressed by his answer in the Q&A at Apple WWDC in 1997. It's easy to look back now and see the milestones, how successes built momentum. It's evident that tablets opened up a whole new way of experiencing information -- and a new market as a consequence -- when only a few appreciated that.
My most treasured learning from the tireless work of a company that created and built many of the tools I use in my work is how big picture listening is a model of influence.
If only we can cultivate the patience to put one foot in front of the other with empathy and focus. With impute they go to the core of Apple's model of influence and understanding what to look for, what to add, or more likely take away.
Caring is contagious. And it takes things to a whole new level, over time.
