If 2009 was the year of making everything simpler, 2010 will be the year of picking the few projects that will really make a difference. If complexity slowed you down, so does volume.
Doing more of less is not just practical, it's also wise. Wisdom comes from experience and you've rolled up your sleeves to learn and test while getting your ideas done this past year.
Build to lead.
Brands are the infrastructure that gives meaning to our choices of products and services, trust is built one day at a time.
Leaders of the now are builders - people who can connect needs and wants with common goals and outcomes. That is the mark of true influence.
Find meaning through purpose.
Make your input positive and the experience of you will gain in credibility. Attention and time are scarce, permission comes through affiliation. A common purpose is an evergreen way to speak the language of lifetime value.
Social is a way to understand your markets as they express demand - and engage that, with purpose. That is the meaning of new marketing.
Make social operational.
You have - and can build - all the ingredients to make that happen:
- Tribe and networks (people)
- Direction or compass (objectives)
- Action and outcomes (measurable goals)
- Maps (strategies)
- Tools and tactics (media)
Action speaks louder than words.
Today, I inaugurate a new site that will be my about page, where you can learn more about where I publish, and my current projects.
Use your influence to teach, lead, learn, love.
